St. Jeanne Jugan’s mission to help her community’s poor and elderly residents inspired the 1897 founding of Little Sisters of the Poor. Almost two centuries later, that passion inspired the launch of another nonprofit: Thrifty Sisters retail store.
Volunteers at this curated thrift boutique collect gently used clothing and household items for resale to the public. Today as Richmonders shop, Saint Francis – Manchester receives the proceeds. Shared purpose nets shared blessings, both then and now.
